Project Speed-Run - 02/10/2013

Today we completed a speed-run (similar to last project) which involved completing the whole project again in about an hour or so, however trying to complete it with a design perspective in mind and not having to worry about focusing on learning the software.

The steps were as follows:
1. Sketch an abstract design. Pick a view from my desk
2. Scan it onto the computer
3. Quickly and abstractly, build a model in sketch-up
4. Create a texture
5. Export your model into CryEngine
6. Animate your model
7. Film a minute walk-through of your model
8. Upload it to the blog.

This is a photo of my quick sketch (scan didn't come out well) of a crumpled piece of paper on my desk.

The following are a series of printscreens showing a different way I experimented creating my model in sketch-up. I have used the free-hand line tool and used the offset tool and move tools in order to try and create the effect of the crumples and different levels of the model.

I have now exported my sketch-up model into CryEngine and I began to play around with the scale, orientation and positioning of my multiple copies of my model.

These following printscreens are images of adding a couple of simple lights and changing the time of day in order to my model to make it look dramatic.

This is a short walk-around of my speed run model:
