I am now at the point where I need to get my 3D model, find an interesting angle that I would like to work with and then export it as a 2D graphic into Adobe Photoshop in order to begin contextualising it and adding entourage.
The following is the progression of contextualising and adding entourage to my Datum 3D model:
*Note:
My contextual progression on this design principle may not seem like leading onto my final, but that is because I accidentally flattened my Photoshop file and with it all of my steps to get to my final. Therefore I have had to replicate it and it is not exactly the same. The method is the same, however the finish is not.
| So the first step was to place my imported 2D graphic of my datum model into my Photoshop file and then cut it out. |
| After this, I duplicated my model layer and created a motion blur on one them with an angle of 8 degrees. |
| The next step is to create the 'sun' glow in the top right hand corner. I did this on two different layers, firstly using a large circular brush with 0% hardness and then using a smaller brush with a lighter shade of colour to print the middle of the glow. After this I merged the two layers and then added a colourised hue/saturation to the glow only. |
Lastly add the image of the International Space Station as entourage and add a tiny bit of motion blur to create the sense of it moving without changing the original integrity. And there we have it =)
Very simple, but hard to replicate exactly off the top your head due to different values change everything for example what the distance for the motion blur will determine how blurred the image will become, or the hue number to create the sun glow. |
