Developing Figure-Ground Principle in Sketch-Up

I am now getting towards the end of the project so I have begun to develop my design principles further using Sketch-Up. I feel that at this stage they are quite basic and not as technical as I would like them to be.

The following are some screen-shots of different angles as I develop my Figure-Ground principle:

These two screenshots are of my previous developments of my figure-ground principle which can be seen in my previous blog - Developing my Sketch-Up 3D Models.

I have used these two screen-shots as a basis to progress with which is clear in the next few screen-shots.

So the following are where I am at in my development. As I duplicate the above model more and play around with the  orientation and different heights it becomes more and more like 'a fleet of futuristic ships' or 'insects' flying in a formation.

I like this idea as looking ahead to contextualising my principle, I could make them look like they were flying quite fast across an environment.

The next few screen-shots were an experiment to see what it would like if I duplicated a lot more to make it look as though it were a 'swarm'. I have duplicated in regards to the y-axis and changed the angle per duplication trying to make it look as though they were flying towards a singular point.

However, I feel that this development is too many duplicates. So I probably will not continue with this development.
